How to Install, Activate, and Import a Template from Template Selar

So you’ve purchased a premium WordPress website template from Template Selar — congratulations! You’re now just a few steps away from launching a professionally designed website using Kadence and Elementor.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the installation, activation, and import process so you can get your website up and running quickly.

Step-by-Step Guide to Import Your Template Selar Child Theme

Step 1: Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard

Go to your WordPress admin area (e.g., yourdomain.com/wp-admin) and log in.

Step 2: Install the Kadence Theme

From your dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Themes
Click Add New Theme
In the search bar, type “Kadence”
Click Install, but do not activate it

Note: Kadence is the base theme that powers all Template Selar child themes. You must install it, but activation will be handled by the child theme.

Step 3: Upload the Child Theme You Purchased

Still in Appearance > Themes, click “Add New” again
This time, click the “Upload Theme” button at the top
Choose the child theme ZIP file you downloaded from Template Selar
Click Install Now

Step 4: Activate the Child Theme

Once the upload is complete, click “Activate” to make the child theme your active site theme. This also triggers the required plugins and setup notices.

Step 5: Install Kadence AI Starter Templates

After activation, you’ll see a prompt asking you to Install the Kadence Starter Templates plugin (sometimes called Kadence AI).

Click Install Kadence Starter Templates
The plugin will help you import your website's full design and demo content.

Step 6: Choose the Template You Purchased

Within the Starter Template import wizard:

Browse or search for the exact template name you purchased
Select it and follow the setup steps provided
Choose your color palette and font style (optional)
Import the full site, including images, pages, and demo content

Step 7: That’s It — Your Website is Ready!

Once the import is complete, you’ll see your new website exactly as shown in the demo. You can now begin customizing the content using Elementor or the WordPress editor.
